First of all, I am no economist. This page is mostly about documenting what I find on the Internet. Unlike my writings about social and computing, nothing here constitutes actionable advice.
Make sure {past,present}{politics,culture,economy} are consistent with each other. Theory must match reality, or else be useless.
Why do these splits exist? Just as computing (information processing, handling, transportation, etc) is somewhat of a blend between mathematics, hardware engineering and physics, I feel like there is no point in splitting Humanities either. Studying economics is studying humanity itself. “The invisible hand” narrative implies that currency has a mind of its own, but in reality, it’s many different individuals making individual choices simultaneously.
