Thoughts on international trade

This morning, I watched a video about the trade relations of the US, China, and the EU by Aljazeera. Let me summarize the first half of the video.

  • The US is being done by the Trump administration.
  • The EU complains about not having intel on Chinese state and state-owned enterprises and laws that force capital and digital infrastructure to stay in China.
  • China complains about the EU’s tariff on EV car imports. (author’s note: EU car companies are family-owned businesses; politician families)

From here, it seems to me that international trade is a game played by the rulers. How it affects ordinary people is not discussed at all.

The song L’Internationale still rings true today. There is no reason for you to pay taxes to your rulers. We can all learn from the US founders.

If the ruler hold power from employing violence and fear, there is not much point talking about political theory, as any kind of democracy would be better.
